This pair of vases date back to the 19th/20th century and was made of patinated bronze and iron. Each vase stands on four feet, which are decorated with mythical creatures. The body forms an emphasized shoulder, crowned by a wide neck. Each wall is adorned with a plastic worked dragon and a miracle pearl. The dragon’s body is partly obscured by the clouds, which creates an exciting surface. The foot and mouth rim is orante with an open worked décor and the mouth is additionally ornate with a meander border.
The visually appealing vases show sign of age and wear. Restorations, traces of soldering, loss of material here and there as well as corrosion on the base can be seen. Each height measures 47 cm. (lvp)
