Pair of Brescian Late 17th Century Snaphaunce Flintlock Pistols A) Engraved Flintlock Pistol
Produced without sights, with engraving on the flats and tang of the barrel. Floral engraving is present on the lock, hammer and frizzen, with a sliding flash pan cover, which automatically opens when the trigger is pulled, and pierced-through decorative plates around the tang and opposite the lock, beneath a belt hook. Smooth full length stock, with pierced-through ramrod pipes, raised decoration on the trigger guard and a metal buttcap with ribbed arms. Notes from the consignor state that this arm hails from the Brescia region, around the late 1600s, and was formerly part of the Joe Kindig Collection.
