Pair of American flintlock “Kentucky” style pistols by Tryon of Philadelphia with Ketland & Co imported locks. The pair measure 16-3/8” overall, with 10-1/4” barrels of approx. .52 caliber smooth bore. The pair are full stocked to the muzzles and are simply mounted in plain brass with light engraving and the stocks show some nice striping at the wrist. The metal surfaces are in good condition showing light to moderate pitting and erosion. One barrel shows some light cleaning, some slightly heavier pitting around the firing areas of the breech and one pistol shows many small marks on the top of the barrel which extend about two inches. The pistol with the marks on the barrel is in its original flintlock configuration with correct hammer, frizzen, small parts other than top jaw and screw which are old replacements. The stock shows some small losses around the rear of the lock and there has been some wood repair and replacement of wood on the area in front of the lock extending approx. 1”. The top edge of the stock extending forward about one inch. The top edge of the stock where it meets the barrel and about 6” back are replaced wood.
