Included here is a matching pair of English Regency parcel-gilt, caned armchairs, circa 1810, featuring their original finish. They feature a seat rail with Greek key motif raised on circular turned legs ending in paw feet. The crestrail is baluster-turned. Seat and seat back are caned. The scrolling arms rest on paw supports. There is a modest tear to the caning on the seat back of one chair. Each measures 33.75" high, 22" wide, 22" deep and has a seat height of 16.75".

Additional images gladly forwarded upon request.

These chairs come from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff, and resided in her former 63-acre estate on Cantitoe Street in Bedford New York, known as Cantitoe Farms. The pair were purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the 1980s and were appraised in 1998 by Sotheby's for $12,000. We will be happy to provide a photocopy of the appraisal at time of purchase. Thanks for visiting. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments
