Two Mexican Molcajete Grinding Bowls and Pestles. tallest 4'' x 7'' diameter. The prehistoric molcajete was used to crush and grind spices, and prepare salsas and guacamole by pre-Hispanic Mesoamerican cultures, including the Aztec and Maya. The rough surface of the basalt stone creates a superb grinding surface that maintains itself over time as tiny bubbles in the basalt are ground down, replenishing the textured surface. The contemporary molcajectes such as these are used for very same reasons as the prehistoric ones.

Items not paid for upon the non pay warning, will be relisted for resale within 10 days. You represent that you are over the age of 18 and can enter into legal contracts. *** The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, regardless of the time the bids were placed. In the event of a tie between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute.
