This painting, executed in oil on canvas, depicts a coastal landscape in Norway. Steamships are anchoring off the coast and the composition is adorned with figure staffage of busy boatmen. A couple with painting supplies appears to the right hand side. A very harmonious depiction of a summer day in the North.



The painting is signed lower right illegibly, the signature is heavily abraded. Faint to stronger nicotine residues are visible. There are partly slight touch-ups at the lower margin and more heavy abrasions in the lower right. The frame is nudged along the edges. The stretcher frame is 39 x 62 cm in size and the total dimensions, including the frame, are 50 x 73.5 cm.
