A blue three ring notebook with letters and notes to Peter Payne. According to the letters, Payne and his committee (Members of the Fanwood Presbyterian Church and anyone else who wished to participate) had a pageant performance called "For God and Country" which was held on July 4th 1943. Other letters commending his work called it "...tableaux at the Scotch Plains - Fanwood Patriotic Rally..." On some pages there are cut-out and glued down columns from newspapers about the performance. Also included are photos cut out of newspapers of children dressed as pilgrims, a civil war scene reenactment and others. A red, white, and blue program flyer is also inside, followed by a program booklet. Original photos by R. Mitchell, and A. Mingione. Stage designs, costume sketches, and pages of lists with directors, cast members and even scripts of "play" are scattered throughout. One July 6th 1943 Plainfield Courier-News newspaper, carried a full page of the event with pictures on page 8. Scrapbook, copies of sketches, and scenes all together inside of a black and white stationery box. Good condition.City: PlainfieldCounty: UnionState: NJ
