Pacific Northwest Indian Polychrome Box Collection
Featured in this lot is this collection of Pacific Northwest Indian polychrome boxes. There are three boxes in this collection. The first is a trinket box from Tsimchian artist Bill Helin, who is a son of Chief Hy'emass of the Gitgeese tribe from Lax Kw Alaams, B.C. The next box shows cedar construction that features a polychrome tribal eagle on the top of the lid. The last, and biggest, is a Haida native cedar box with a porcelain plate set to the top with a tribal killer whale painted to its face; this box is dated from 2003 by Lawrence Andrew. The condition of these boxes is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of these Pacific Northwest Indian boxes range from 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" to 1 1/2" x 8 1/4" x 10 1/4".
