AMQS on an off-white 12.5 x 8 sheet, signed and inscribed below in ink, "A Monsieur Comte de Latour, souvenir de notre voisinage a Stuttgart [To Mr. Earl of Latour, souvenir of our neighborhood in Stuttgart], P. de Sarasate, 13 mars 1878." Sarasate pens a few bars from his most famous composition, 'Zigeunerweisen.' In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing, intersecting folds, and a stain to the paraph. 'Zigeunerweisen,' a piece for violin and orchestra, was composed in 1877–1878 and premiered in January 1878 in Leipzig. The classic composition remains in the repertoire of all leading violin soloists and has been recorded many times.
