<B>PYRITIZED AMMONITE</B></I><BR> <I>Spitoiceras sp. <BR>Volga River, Ulianovsk Area, Russia</B></I><BR>A fine example of a pyrite-replaced fossil, this specimen has been sliced in half revealing the inner living chambers. Some of the chambers have been filled with creamy-yellow calcite crystals, whilst others are lined with druzy pyrite crystals in arresting aesthetic contrast to the shimmering metallic pyrite that lines the circumference.
