Caught and woven into the network of our own thoughts, Rosemarie Trockel's works show us that they cannot be rationally grasped, and that knowledge is not enough to make them accessible as notions. Rosemarie Trockel's works are pilot projects that show how necessary it is for nature and things to speak with their own voice. Do we even have the ability to do so? Is it possible for the conscousness to develop some other approach to reality, all the better to understand the processes of life? "Every animal is a female artist," for in nature there are abilities and behaviours at work by which reality can be perceived and fashioned, by which it is possible to handle nature and live as part of it, without leading it to the edge of the abyss in a rationalist craze for control. The feminist remainder consists in the concrete utopia of laying bare these abilities. After more than a million years of successful survival, these abilities ought to be stored in the genetic code of homo sapiens There, we might find and learn them anew.
