PROPELLER FRAGMENT FROM VON RICHTHOFEN’S FOKKER TRI-PLANE DR I 425/17. Fragment of the propeller from the wreck of Richthofen’s tri-plane. This item was originally among the war relics of Australian Lt. G. L. Mayman who was in charge of the Signal Section of the Australian 8th Field Artillery Brigade and who witnessed the crash. Included with the item is a photocopy of an article on the career of Lt. Mayman from the September 1, 1939 issue of Reveille. This item is pictured on page 238 of Carisella’s book Who Killed The Red Baron? CONDITION: Piece exhibits some of the orig varnish finish. SIZE: 1-1/16” high x 1” wide x 2-1/2” long.
