Anand Rao Pawar, Silver Rupee, 11.30g, Anandnagar Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, AH 1197/ RY 16, Sword as a mint mark on rev, extremely rare to get complete mint name and date on such rare coin. Extremely fine, extremely rare.
Dhar had been controlled by the Parmar clan of Rajputs from the 9th century to the 13th century, after which it passed in to Muslim hands. The modern princely state of Dhar originated. In the 1st half of the 18th century when the Peshwa Bajirao handed over the region as a fiefdom to Anand Rao Pawar. He was descendant of the original Parmar Rajputs. The above coin is historically very important and extremely rare.
