PRESENTATION NAVAL OFFICER'S SWORD.
Marked by Joseph Starkey, London, engraved blade with "U.S.N.", openwork brass guard with "USN," wire-wrapped sharkskin grip, and leather and brass scabbard. 29"l. blade.

Joseph Starkey worked on Conduit Street in London from 1859 until 1918.
This sword was presented to Harry Mason Dombaugh of Marion, Ohio. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and rose to the rank of lieutenant-commander.


Condition: Some cracking to the leather on the scabbard with a few tape repairs; the brass on the scabbard have been lacquered.
