This is a pair of old Sheffield Plate chestnut containers. Each is in the form of an urn with circular handles mounted in the mouth's of lions.

Each is also decorated with an armorial with the Hand of Ulster above which is the Head of a Boar, and in the shield proper there are three knightly helms.I have been advised that this came from an important Irish family.

There is some bleeding on the plate which is quite normal for a plate object made in the late 18th century.

No bends.
