A collection of documents related to the release of Ed Tovrea consisting of his recovered personnel documents detailing events and camps and when liberated. It also lists Col. C.G. Goodrich as his commanding officer at Luft Stalag 3 and 7, as well as several Commendations signed by Colonel Goodrich attesting to his positive performance as a POW and a recommendation for promotion to Captain. It reads "This officer was a prisoner of war under my jurisdiction at Stalag Luft III, Germany. While on this status, his performance of duty under adverse conditions was outstanding and warrants his immediate promotion." There are some duplicates to this document but one has Goodrich's signature. There is a document presumed to be compiled by a family member, perhaps his mother it details the war records of Ed and his brother Phil, and is written while Ed is still captive. Last, his signed document instructing POW how to safeguard information relating to escapes, and forbidding disclosing to anyone details of in camp organizations established to assist in escape or to methods etc, signed by Ed and dated May 12 1945.
