Offered is this wonderful Pittsburgh obverse painted scenic lamp. It is called obverse painted because the painting is done on the outer part of the shade, as opposed to a reverse painted lamp, in which the painting is done on the inner portion of the shade. This lamp is of a bucolic winter scene of a home and trees nestled amidst hills and valleys. The base has a wonderful patina. This Pittsburgh is just shy of 15" in diameter and 22" tall. Its condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. It retains its original hardware and finish and has been rewired with period appropriate cloth cord. It is signed under the plate on the base and on the screws that adjust the height "PL&BCo." and the heat cap and shade rest were patented by Pittsburgh.
I have been enjoying this lamp but am now offering it for someone else to enjoy its wonderful glow. It is truly a fabulous early 20th century lamp!
