Additional Information: This work is signed in the plate by the artist "Picasso" in the lower right margin and also dated in the plate "5.5.1950".
It was created by Picasso on the 5th of May 1950 by using a crayon drawing on transfer paper that was then transferred to stone.
The paper bears the Arches watermark.
It was printed as a proof aside the deluxe edition of 100 impressions with wide margins. There was also a poster edition with text of 350 for Picasso's exhibition of ceramics in Vallauris which took place from 29 july to 15 September 1950.
The work was printed by Mourlot in 1950.
Finally the motif of this print was also used as the frontispiece in "Une Visite a Vallauris", a book written by Rene Batigne and published by Le Musee de Vallauris in 1950. 500 lithogaphs copies were made but these were printed on smaller folded paper.

Provenance: Given directly by Fernand Mourlot to his friend, Rolande Bouillot in the 1950's.
Thence by decent to her grandson, Hans Bouillot who authenticated this work in a note verso.
