<B>PETRIFIED WOOD SLAB</B></I><BR> <I>Araguaina-Filadelfia <BR>Permian <BR>Maranhao Sedimentary Basin, Tocantins, Brazil</B></I><BR>In north and northeastern Brazil there once was a region of lakes and inland seas that were surrounded by all types of vegetation and forests. At some point, these trees were covered with sediment, the wood was replaced by minerals and a petrified forest was born. The mineralization captured all of the beauty and detail of the wood and preserved them in stone.
