Cal. 50 rifled bore. NSN. Bbl. 37" full oct., stamped “S MORRISON MILTON PA”. Overall length 52". Has a 4 piece patchbox & 4 silver inlays. Percussion back action lock marked “G. GOLCHER”, a Philadelphia lock maker & has dbl. set triggers. Samuel Morrison worked in Milton PA about 1826 to 1843 & like Beerstecher made some Kentucky’s w/ superposed loads. CONDITION: 2x3/4" repair plate under the percussion nipple & sm. brass sideplate on left hand side appears to be added. PROVENANCE: Collection of Dr. John Persing. (01-19537/RG).
