(PEARL HARBOR)
A newspaper account of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, as reported in the Boston Traveler, Boston, Dec. 8, 1941, 41 pp. folio. In this ""War Extra"" the headlines read: ""FDR ASKS DECLARATION OF WAR AGAINST JAPAN... SAY 3000 DEAD AND WOUNDED IN HAWAII... TELLS CONGRESS 2 U.S. WARSHIPS SUNK"". The story includes a somewhat sketchy report on the attack, as at this early point in time little had come out of Hawaii, with the full text of Roosevelt's famous speech before Congress and a report on the telephone conversation between F.D.R. and Churchill. Some soot soiling at horizontal fold, otherwise good condition. 283
