Two war-date Pearl Harbor Navy Yard items, includes a 3/4" sterling silver pin with the Pearl harbor Navy Yard emblem which includes an aircraft, battleship, cranes, tools, an eagle and the motto: "We Keep Them Fit to Fight", along with a 4 3/4" dia. aluminum ashtray bearing the same emblem and motto, issued on Navy Day, 1945 (the third Saturday in May). Two pieces. On Dec. 7, 1941 yard workers helped put out hundreds of fires, and quickly recovered and returned 15 of 18 damaged ships to the war. Perhaps the shipyard?s most significant act was the repair of the battle-damaged carrier, USS Yorktown.
