PATENT MODEL CRACKER MACHINE.
Patented March 2, 1836 (?) by W. R. Nivens (no number on replacement tag). Wonderful brass machine with five interactive gears that move dough down an incline through two sets of rollers, past a conveyor belt that puts the traditional holes and textures on the cracker before heading into the oven. Incline is engraved in script "WM. R. Nivens Patent Biscuit & Cracker Machine New York". Affixed to shaped wooden block base. SIZE: 10" l x 6-1/2" w x 8" h. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan. CONDITION: Overall very good. Original cloth conveyor belt is loose and should turn with the cranking, but all other functions operational. Large flywheel appears to be a replacement. 1-12666
