"Maxfield Parrish" 1p. 4to., Windsor, Vt., Nov. 18, 1904, to William Lester Henry, in part: "...The Italian Villa pictures and the illustrations for Eugene Field's Poems of Childhood will go on exhibition at Williams and Everett, Boston about Dec. 1st and later will be at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts until March. I send you a list of pictures...". From March until June of 1903, Parrish traveled in Italy to make notes and photographs for the paintings of villas -- mentioned in this letter -- to illustrate Edith Wharton's book Italian Villas and Their Gardens.
