PARAGUAY, War of the Triple Alliance, 1 real, countermark "1" in rounded hexagonal field of horizontal lines (1865-70) on a wavy-edge 1/4 cut of a Bolivian Republic 4 soles 1830 J, rare, PCGS F12 / c/m VF detail. Janson-13; Pratt-MR2; KM-B2. 3.42 grams. Bold full countermark below CONSTITU(CION) with nice toning in crevices, the other side weaker (due to the countermark) but with clear 0 of date and assayer J (rare to see that on this issue), rare and desirable as an emergency issue during Paraguay's war against the "Triple Alliance" of Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay in 1865-70.
