PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 76517. Bbl. 4". Mfg. 1933-1964. A Vietnam War captured, chrome plated, French Military pistol. It was liberated by Lt. Roy H. Cook during his tour of duty in Republic of Vietnam from 6 May, 1970 - 12 Aug., 1971. Serrated slide w/ front blade & drift adjustable rear sights. Left side controls. Black plastic checkered grips w/ MAB logo in center in oval. Smooth backstrap & front strap. Rear grip safety. These guns can be encountered w/ Navy markings or German markings depending on where they were deployed but this exmple has only factory markings. MAGS: 1 steel 9rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: War Trophy Registration / Authorization form 603-1, signed by Eugene I Major, SFC, USA, CMEC on 7 Aug., 1971. CONDITION: Chrome finish has thinning on high spots & small scattered flecks. Factory markings remain clear & deep. Grips are cracked around bottom screws. Grip safety, thumb safety & magazine safety still function correctly. Bore is clean w/ strong rifling. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (23-114/JZ). CURIO. $500-800.
