Circa 1820-1840 Chinese Export A Very Rare Pair of Orange Fitzhugh Platters measuring 16" X 13".
Fresh out of a very important ESTATE in Charlottesville, Virginia--"the home of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello. These platters are not in Pristine Condition. No Damage except for one rim chip. BUT in the process of the making of these platters show black pitted marks which happened in the firing in the kiln when they were made in the Early 19TH. Century. The one small rim chip is shown in one of the images and is the only physical damage to these platters. More images with close up detail may be requested by interested parties. Fitzhugh came in seven colors with the color blue being the more noticeable and made more than all the other colors. The other colors were green, orange, raspberry, yellow, sepia, and the rarest of all is black.
