Circa 1740 Chinese Export Quianlong Period Pair of 9" Chinese Imari porcelain plates decorated in underglaze blue abd overglaze red and gold in the very typical imari style. This style was originally developed in Japan, after which it appeared on Chinese Export Porcelain at the end of the reign of Kangxi(1662-1722). These plates
date from the middle of the 18TH Century 1740-1750. They are decorated with one large floral arrangement with peonies and two smaller floral sprays. The rims are decorated with alternating floral groups and large insects. Condition is Very Good considering that they are over 250 years old with both plates having noticeable wear to the enameled highlights. In addition each plate has a tiny chip to the rim.
