PAIR OF 7TH CAVALRY LIEUTENANTS EPAULETS
PAIR OF 7TH CAVALRY LIEUTENANTS EPAULETS. Beautiful dress epaulets of the type worn in the period of 1872-1890. These certainly have the possibility of having belonged to one of Custer's Lieutenants. They are made of intertwined gold braid and a yellow felt backing material. They have Lieutenant's bars and large "7"s in the center of the larger end. They also have an original Waterbury Button Company spread wing eagle button with "C" on a shield on its breast at the small end. They have black felt backing with brass clips. CONDITION: Fine. Both have had hand-stitched repairs to the backing. Otherwise the braid is slightly dulled but intact and the yellow felt is somewhat faded but clean and intact. Ex. Flayderman Collection. 4-53309
