<B>PICASSO</B><BR><BR>PABLO PICASSO <BR>Mlaga 1881- 1973 Mougins (Spanish) <BR><BR>Cavalier and Two figures - 1968<BR>Original Hand Numbered and Inscribed Color Linocut<BR><BR>Title : Cavalier and Two figures.<BR><BR>Technique : Original Color Linocut on Velin (Wove) paper. <BR><BR>Paper size : 21,5 x 14,5 cm / 8.5 x 5.7 inch. <BR><BR>Image Size: 17 x 11,4 cm / 6.7 x 4.5 inch <BR><BR>Additional Information : This Color Linocut is Hand Numbered in pencil "374/440" at the lower left margin, <BR>as well as Hand Inscribed in pencil "HC" (Hors Commerce = Before Trade) at the lower right margin. <BR>This is an invitation card for the Madoura gallery for an exhibition by Picasso in 1968.<BR>The work was printed by Arnera, Vallauris and published by Gallerie Madoura, Cannes and Vallauris, 1970<BR>The Linocut was printed in a limited edition of 440 hand numbered and inscribed impressions. <BR>There were also 125 numbered impressions on on Velin d'Arches paper, with margins<BR>The work is dated "11.15.1968" in the plate in the lower left. <BR><BR>This is a greetings card for the Gallerie Madoura for 1968. <BR>Printed within : "Linographie originale de Picasso Specialiement gravee par l'autour a l'intention <BR>des amis de Suzanne et Georges RAMIE". <BR>On the second page is printed "Avec les meilleurs compliments et tous les voeux de Madoura ". <BR>There was a very similar ceramic also made (see Bloch, volume III, number 181)<BR>Published by: Galerie Madoura , Vallauris & Cannes <BR>Provenance: The collection of Ines and Gerard Sassier, France. <BR><BR>Literature: Pablo Picasso: Tome II, Catalogue de l'oeuvre Grave et Lithographie by Georges Bloch, edition Kornfeld et Klipstein, Berne 1975.<BR>Reference: Reference: Bloch.
