P. S. Justice early Civil War period rifled musket in .58 caliber showing brass mountings and patch box with unique shaped trigger guard0(Refer Flayderman 9B-026). The metal surfaces show some light cleaning with beginning minor rust and somelight pitting around the area of the nipple and bolster. The lock is well marked as is the rear of the barrel. The stock is good with light cleaning, some small dings, mars, scratches and a couple of small losses along the ramrod channel. A correct period style ramrod is included. The lock works well and the bore shows good rifling. Approximately 2500 estimated to have been produced and the majority were issued to Pennsylvania volunteer units in 1861 at the beginning of theCivil War. William A.
