O’Brien, </B></I><B><I>Will Rogers: Ambassador of Good Will, Prince of Wit and Wisdom</B></I></B></I> (n.p., 1935), first edition, illustrated, blue-cloth binding with black lettering and illustrations, 8vo (8.25” x 5.75”). Lowell Thomas wrote the foreword for this biography of Will Rogers, published shortly after his untimely death in a plane crash near Barrow, Alaska, with aviator Wiley Post on August 15, 1935. Includes rare photographs, including stills from Rogers’ Hollywood films. Inside the book are a letter and first-day cover, postmarked August 15, 1938, referring to the commemorating cruise to establish a historical marker at Point Barrow by the Will Rogers-Wiley Post Memorial Expedition, and a playing card from the Cunard Steamship Line used as a bookmark.
