Oxford & Aylesbury Tramroad opal glass lamp name Tablet "WOTTON". Rectangular, etched black on white, 131/4"x4". Good condition. A rare Tablet from the furthermost outpost of the Metropolitan system. Wotton, a Met/GC station, was on the Brill Branch from Quainton Road. It opened in 1872 and closed in 1935. The Oxford and Aylesbury Tramroad took over the privately built (1871) Brill branch in 1894, was leased to the Metropolitan Railway in 1899 then vested in the Met & GC Joint in 1906.
