Oval platter decorated with gold and flowers, including blue cornflowers, a favorite of Marie Antoinette. Platter is marked on the underside with a red crowned A which appears be that of the Rue Thiroux, a small Paris porcelain factory in business from 1775 to 1869 and which Marie Antoinette patronized. The factory marked its ware with a red ?A?. The addition of a crown indicated royal favor and distinction. In very good used condition as shown.
