Outstanding World War II Luftwaffe Ku Marked "41/byf" Code P.08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol Rig with Two Matching Magazines

This is an excellent scarce example of a WWII production P.08 Luger. The components were manufactured by Mauser with the desirable "41/42" code along with the small "Ku" serial number suffix for the Luftwaffe. It is theorized that these "Ku" marked P.08 Lugers were actually a very late 1944 contract for the Luftwaffe. They were assembled by the Krieghoff factory using P.08 Luger parts from the Mauser factory. It is estimated that 5,000 were manufactured. This example has the "41" date on top of the chamber area with "byf" wartime code for the Mauser factory on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension has the "Ku" proof added behind the serial number. This example has standard military markings and serial number placement. The full serial number "1355" is stamped on the frame and barrel extension only and the last two digits of the serial number "55" stamped on the various small parts. The underside of the barrel is marked with a small "S/42" proof and a late war "Krieghoff/LZA" Luftwaffe acceptance proof is marked on the upper left side of the barrel. Fitted with checkered walnut grips and comes with two early Type I chrome plated police magazines marked "HAENEL (in an arrow) SCHMEISSER PATENT" on the side with the aluminum bases marked "1/1355/eagle proof" and "2/1355/eagle L" proof. Complete with an original 1941 dated black leather Luger holster marked "eagle/WaA727/cxb/41/P.08" on the back.

Guage: 9 mm Luger Auto
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original blue finish showing some minor edge and high spot wear. The grips are excellent with a minor pressure dent/ding on the left side, overall minor handling wear and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine with a nice even black color showing only minor wear on the lower edge of the flap mixed with some minor handling makers and tight stitching. The markings are clear and sharp. As noted this scarce late war Luger rig has all matching numbers including both magazines.
