Outstanding Very Rare Belgium Browning Midas Grade Magnum 12 Gauge Shotgun Engraved and Double Signe
Produced in 1974, with a matte vent rib, single ivory bead sight, full/ modified chokes, 3" chambers and ejectors. Nice punch-dot backed floral scroll engraving is present on the receiver, trigger guard, release lever and in 2 inch wedges on each side of the top barrel. The right side of the receiver has three gold ducks in flight in a marsh scene with gold wire bordering, the left side has three pheasants in flight in a field scene with gold wire bordering and there is a gold quail in a field scene on the bottom. The lower left rear of the receiver is signed "R .COENEN" and "P.LALLEMAND" on the lower right rear of the receiver. Gold single selective trigger and tang safety/selector with gold lettering. The matching forearm and pistol grip stock are extra fancy highly figured walnut, with a high gloss finish and fine line checkering with decorative borders. The forearm latch assembly has simple engraving, the buttstock is fitted with a brown vented Browning recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 3/8". Complete in a brown leather Browning hard takedown case with brass hardware and partial tan fleece lining, and original hanging tag. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, Midas Grade, 12 gauge magnum with 30" barrels choked modified and full. The letter states that the shotgun was manufactured in Belgium and sold December 1, 1975 to Navy Exchange Officer at the U.S. Navy Ships Store 3rd Avenue & 29th Street, Brooklyn, New York. According to Ned Schwing's book "Browning Superposed" only 64 of these 30" barrel, full/modified choked superposed shotguns were manufactured.

Near new with 98% plus original blue. The shotgun retains virtually all of the finish with only light overall handling marks. The wood is also excellent with only a few overall minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Sharp and clear engraving and markings. The mechanics are excellent. The case is excellent. An outstanding very scarce configured double signed Browning Midas Grade Superposed shotgun with case.
