This U.S. Model 1911A1 Automatic Pistol was manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co., Inc., in 1943. The receiver and slide have a gray-green parkerized finished, the barrel is blued and the stocks are brown plastic with a checkered finish. The Keyes Fibre Co., stocks have large reinforcing rings around the screws, interior strengthening ribs and are marked on the inside with mold marks and a "K/five-pointed star". The blued, High Standard barrel is stamped with a "P" proof mark on the left side of the lug and "HS" on the right side. The inside of the receiver barrel channel and the back of the frame above the firing pin hole are stamped with the Ordnance 'Shell and Flame' insignia found on early production Ithaca pistols. The right side of the receiver is stamped with the Ordnance escutcheon behind the stock and roll-stamped with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/ No 872623" in two lines behind the slide stop hole. "M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" is roll-stamped in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the 0rdnance final inspection mark "FJA" below the slide stop and a "P" proof mark behind the magazine release. A "P" proof mark is stamped on the top of the slide and the left side of the slide is roll-stamped: "ITHACA GUN CO., INC./ ITHACA, N.Y." in two lines. The top of the magazine floor plate is stamped "S" (Schovill Mfg. Co.,).

Condition: Excellent. The pistol is all original and retains 98% of the correct original parkerized finish. Finish loss is limited to some very minor edge wear on the slide and frame and some very minor storage marks. The barrel retains 90% of the original blue finish. The stocks are in excellent condition. The magazine retains 85% of the original blue finish. The markings on the slide and receiver are crisp. This is an excellent example of a desirable, early production, Ithaca M1911A1 Pistol.
