Manufactured from 1868 to 1881, the No. 1 3rd issue is similar to the 2nd Issue with the exception of a fluted cylinder, birds head butt and round ribbed barrel. This is a 22 rimfire seven shot single action revolver with a blade front and notch rear sights, finished blue with a casehardened checkered hammer and trigger and fitted with smooth two piece rosewood grips. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the one line address and 1855, '59 and '60 patent dates.
BBL: 3 3/16 inch solid rib
Stock:
Gauge: 22 RF
Finish: blue
Grips: rosewood
Serial Number: 56798
Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus of the original bright blue finish with flaking on the left side of the barrel and cylinder, thinning on the right side of the barrel and some minor pitting on the left side of the barrel lug. The exposed areas have a smooth plum patina. There is an isolated patch of minor pin prick like pitting on the ejection rod. The hammer retains almost all of the original vivid and deep case colors. The grips are excellent retaining virtually all of the original varnish and showing a few very minor dings and light handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
