Outstanding Scarce Remington Model 1890 Single Action Army Revolver

Manufactured from 1891 to 1984 with a total production of only about 2,000. The Model 1890 was the successor to the Model 1875 and was intended to be the competitor of the Colt Single Action Army. This model of revolver is the most sought after of all of the Remington produced handguns. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." and "44 C.F.W" is marked on the left side of the frame just below the cylinder. The serial number is marked on the lower left side of the frame under the grip panel and on the loading gate. The revolver has a blade front and frame notch rear sights, lanyard stud and ring mounted on the butt and is fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the "RA" monogram at the tops.

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus original unpolished nickel finish, showing some minor scratches, flaking at the muzzle and holster wear at the front of the cylinder. The grips are very fine showing a few minor dings on the lower edges and crisp checkering. The action needs work, the hammer does not hold a cock position. The markings remain crisp and clear.
