Manufactured in 1940, the last year of production for the First Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver. There is no letter with this revolver, but it may well be one of the pre-war, post-war variation. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line Colt address, the left side "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent date marking followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the front and back straps under the grips. Each grip panel is numbered to the gun. Casehardened frame and blue remaining parts and fitted with two piece checkered grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original finish with only the slightest wear on the left side of the muzzle, some minor scratches on the cylinder from cycling and a few minor overall handling marks. The grips are as new. The markings are sharp. The action is tight as new.
