Outstanding Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle in Rare 300 Savage

Manufactured in 1946 during the Transition period (late 1945 to 1951) in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. The rifle has a hooded ramp front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight and receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the barrel and receiver. Polished bolt numbered to gun, pre-war safety, sling swivels and cloverleaf receiver tang. The checkered pistol grip stock features a straight comb and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as partially refinished (trigger guard). The rifle retains 95% plus original blue finish showing limited light handling marks. The stock is also very fine with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
