This shotgun was manufactured by Ludwig Borovnik of Ferlach, Austria for Flaigs. The city of Ferlach houses 13 multi-generational arms companies and their products are counted among the world's most beautiful and finest. Single steel bead sight, choked improved cylinder/full and 3 inch chambers with ejectors. The top of the vent rib is engraved "MADE IN AUSTRIA", the bottom of the barrels are marked "BOHLER SPEZIAL STAHL G55", "Lud. Borovnik - Ferlach", "40.1970" and "2602 62". The coin finished box lock action is engraved with two pheasants in a wooded scene on the left side surrounded by floral scroll designs, a jackrabbit in a wooded scene on the right side surrounded by floral scroll and a duck in flight over a marsh scene surrounded by floral scroll on the bottom. The trigger guard is engraved with a cabin in an oval with "FLAIGS" over the cabin. Gold double triggers and tang mounted automatic safety. Mounted with a nicely figured skip line checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a horn grip cap, raised cheekpiece and checkered horn buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches, 1 1/8 inch drop at comb, 2 3/8 inches drop at heel.

Condition: Excellent. The barrels retain 98% original blue finish with slight edge wear. The trigger guard retains 98% original blue finish with some thinning. The triggers retain almost all of the original gold finish. The wood is excellent with a few scattered minor dings, handling marks, and crisp checkering. The engraving and markings are clear. The horn buttplate has some insect tracking. Mechanically excellent.
