Pin front and hammer notch rear sights, with "JAMES WARNER. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. U.S.A." on the top strap, "12" under the grip on the left and "WARNER'S PT/ 1857" under the grip on the right. The "12" is repeated in ink on both grip panels, with the left featuring a raised carved design of a helmed centurion above the screw and an American shield below. Fine scroll engraving is present on the sides of the frame, top, and backstrap, with border engraving around the address and striped lines on either side of the hammer, and the cylinder is finely etched, with 3 knurled bands flanking leafy and patriotic designs. Present on the left side of the frame is a small screw which secures the hand spring, one of the signature features of the Warner Pocket Pistol.

Condition: Excellent, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina and scattered handling marks overall. Traces of original silver are present on the frame and triggerguard, with the exposed steel turning brown and gray and the brass showing a deep aged patina. Grips are excellent, with some minor chips and cracks, as well as an attractive aged grain and color. Mechanically excellent.
