This is a like new example of a pre-World War II K98 Mauser banner "Standard Modell" rifle. These commercial standard models were the first true K98 style Mauser rifle that was the forerunner for all later wartime production rifles. The top of the receiver ring is stamped with the "MAUSER" banner logo with the left side of the receiver marked with the "Crown over /B, G, U and N" commercial proof marks over the Commercial serial number "B73158". The receiver side wall is correctly stamped; "STANDARD-MODELL". The left, rear end of the barrel is marked with the matching serial number "B73158". It is fitted with the correct early style straight bolt handle with the same correct and matching "Crown over/B and U" commercial proof marks with the matching last four digits "3158" of the serial number. This beautiful rifle is equipped with the original inverted "V" front sight and military style tangent rear sight graduated, "1-20" (100-2000 meters) and is fitted with the early style all milled trigger guard and floorplate (both correctly matching) with the early wide middle barrel band and early style "H" pattern milled front barrel band. It is fitted with an early bright polished cleaning rod with a slotted head . It is fitted with the early correct pattern Standard-Modell style stock with finger grooves on the sides and a blue flat steel buttplate.

Exceptional, near new with 99% blued finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The stock and handguard are also excellent with a nice even matching medium brown finish overall with some minor handling marks on the sides of the buttstock. What a beautiful example of an early, all matching, prewar Mauser banner Standard-Modell K98 rifle that would be nearly impossible to improve on.
