Outstanding Early DWM Model 1914 Commercial Luger Pistol Rig with Early Commercial Holster

These early DWM model 1914 Lugers are a scarce early variation that fall into a very narrow serial number range, generally accepted as being in the 71500-73500 range. The key aspect in determining this as a true Model 1914 commercial are that it has the five digit commercial serial number generally associated with this model, it has the 1914 stock lug, is fitted with the hold-open device and new style 1914 frame with the coil spring. This specific Luger is even rarer in that it is complete with a very early 1906 commercial brown leather holster with "Pfc.Robert English/42142329" marked on the inside of the flap. These early holsters have the additional slot on the magazine pouch for a short 4-inch cleaning rod, that is included and the small pouch on the inside of the flap has the extra slot for the pin-punch, which is also included with rig. The chamber area is blank with the rear toggle having the DWM logo. The right side of the barrel extension is blank with the left side, underside of the barrel and both the breechblock and front toggle have a single "Crown/N" proofmark. It is correctly numbered as a commercial Luger, with the full five digit serial number (73344) stamped on the underside of the barrel, the front of the frame with the last three digits of the serial number stamped on the underside of the barrel extension, in front of and on top of the frame lug; i.e. "33/44". The last two digits of the serial number "44" are stamped on the various parts in the correct commercial fashion. This example is correctly chambered in 9 mm Luger and it has the standard extractor and safety marking. Complete with one nickel plated commercial style magazine with the original unmarked wooden base.

Very fine. The pistol retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with a hint of edge/high spot wear. The various small parts retain 98% of their refurbished straw colors. The grips are excellent with light handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine. The holster is very fine with a nice brown color overall, tight stitching, showing minor scratches and scuffing on the flap, lower toe area and some age cracking on the magazine pouch. A super example of a complete early Model 1914 DWM Commercial Luger rig.
