Manufactured in 1916. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine that distinguishes it as the Colt Model 1902 "Military" pistol. Features rear slide serrations, blue barrel and unmarked blue magazine. The left side of the slide is marked with the standard two block, two line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "1" assembler's mark on the lower rear and the Colt "VP/triangle" proofmark on the front top. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center. Complete with the original maroon hinged lid box numbered to the gun, original hanging tag, manual and "Special Instructions" pamphlet.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 99% bright original blue finish with some mild edge wear and some scattered light scratches present on the right slide of the side. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The box is about good with some tears, separated front corners on the lid, with some of the flap broken off, (in the box) and the hinge beginning to separate. All the very fine original labels remain intact.
