Blade front and 2-leaf folding rear sights, with "A" on the left flat, "V/ P/ eagle head" on the upper left, and "1864" on top of the chamber. The lock plate is marked "1864" behind the beveled hammer, with the eagle and shield motif and "U.S./ SPRINGFIELD" ahead. Smooth straight grip stock with a tulip-head ramrod, three "U" marked spring secured barrel bands, sling swivels, "JG" and "EFA" boxed cartouches opposite the lock, "J" on and behind the trigger guard and a "US" marked buttplate. With a wooden barrel plug.

Condition: Very fine, with original bright metal finish on the Arsenal Bright barrel and trigger guard. Bayonet wear near the muzzle and minor pitting on the ramrod and mild spotting on the barrel. Case colors are very fine, with a few silvered areas on the lock. Stock is excellent, with light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
