Outstanding engraved vignette of extensive mining operation along riverside flanked by cherubs holding curtains open. Issued to WILLIAM H. VANDERBILT (1821 - 1885); Financier; Railroad builder; Son of "Commodore" Vanderbilt. Signed by CORNELIUS (1843 - 1899), WILLIAM K. (1849 - 1920) and FREDERICK W. VANDERBILT (1856 - 1938). Also signed by CHAUNCEY DEPEW (1834 - 1928); Financier: Lawyer for the Vanderbilts; U.S. Senator. This is a truly outstanding association of William and three of his sons, as well as Depew on a single item. Very light stub glue traces at left. Stamp and punch cancelled. William K. and Depew sign on the front, punch cancellations lightly affecting William K.'s signature. Cornelius and Frederick sign on verso, both signatures affected by the punch cancellation.
