Outstanding Beautiful Condition Winchester Model 1895 Deluxe Sporting Rifle

This is an exceptional example of a very early production, Deluxe Winchester Model 1895 Fancy Sporting Rifle with highly figured, checkered, burl walnut, stock and forearm as manufactured in 1904. This beautiful rifle is also fitted with a deluxe, burl walnut forend, that also has the same/matching finely checkered panels on three sides, that matches the buttstock perfectly. Both the stock and forearm have the Winchester high polished, hand rubbed, wood varnish. The rifle fitted with a 28 inch barrel that has the integral front sight, lugs/base mounted on the barrel with a single silver blade front sight and a Winchester sporting adjustable rear sight. The receiver is marked with the Winchester two line, factory address and patent dates that ends in 98. The left side of the barrel is stamped in two lines: "- NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER", with the caliber designation: "30 U.S." stamped on top in front of the receiver ring. The upper receiver tang is stamped in two lines: "WINCHESTER/-MODEL 1895-" with the serial number "46819" stamped on the lower receiver tang. The rifle has a beautiful blue finish with a hand rubbed stock and forend varnish finish with a color case hardened buttplate.

Excellent condition with 99% of the original blue finish with just a hint of minor flaking on top of the receiver ring and the tail end of the lower tang. The balance of the metal finish is exceptional. The stock and forend are the same with 98% of the original stock varnish with some minor rub marks on the right side of the buttstock mixed with some minor handling marks/scratches. The buttplate and hammer retain 98% of their case colors. This is a fabulous, highly desirable rifle in beautiful condition with all the screws untouched with some old dried grease at the junction of the barrel and forend.
