The left front trigger guard bow is stamped with a "4" assembler's mark above the Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark. The serial number "36/67" is stamped on the rear of the slide beneath the firing pin stop. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped: COLT SERVICE/MODEL ACE .22 LONG/RIFLE with "ACE" surrounded by a diamond. The left side of the slide is roll stamped with the two-line, elongated, Colt Hartford address above thee patent numbers. The Rampant Colt trademark is stamped behind the legend. The magazine floor plate is stamped: "COLT/.22 ACE L.R./SERVICE MODEL" in three lines. Commercial production Service Model Ace pistols manufactured after 1941 are rare.
